Flowers in the Desert is a strategic and much-needed 90-minute Gulf Arabic-language feature film depicting the incredible never-told-before stories of three Muslims from the Arabian Peninsula who came to faith in Jesus Christ. Based on real-life testimonies, it portrays with gritty realism the struggles and hope of three believers in the heartland of Islam. These believers share one common experience – an encounter with Jesus Christ that has changed their lives forever. Maarifa is AWM Media’s new strategic initiative to proclaim the Gospel and engage Muslim seekers through the Internet and new forms of media. Plans include an online magazine, Internet radio station, Internet TV and the development of an online discipleship program for believers from a Muslim background who want to grow in their walk with the Lord. The unprecedented growth of the Church among Berber-speaking Kabyles in Algeria has made it imperative to provide them with solid biblical teaching in their mother tongue. AWM Media produces a weekly television and radio program that provides solid teaching and trains Berber Christians to reach out to their countrymen. Many of our Arabic-speaking staff do not have large sponsoring churches or Christian families and they experience difficulty in receiving full support from their small Arabic home churches. Your investment in these people will make it possible for them to be released for ministry in AWM Media and to fill key positions – for example, responding to some 300+ emails received from Muslim inquirers each month, answering their questions about what it means to follow Jesus, producing radio and television programs, etc. You can help make this ministry of outreach and discipleship possible.

Everyone loves a hero! Champions of Faith – Series II is a series of 52 half-hour television portrayals of ordinary men and women of the Bible whose lives were radically transformed by God. As with Series I, Series II will be produced as a joint television venture between AWM Media and a well-established Christian satellite television broadcaster in the region. For $1200, you will make it possible to produce one 30-minute episode of this key teaching tool.

On January 1, 2008 AWM Media launches a weekly online Arabic magazine that deals with current issues such as human dignity, justice, poverty, unemployment and women’s concerns from a Christian perspective in a way that reflects the powerful relevance of Christ to every aspect of our lives. This magazine is pre-evangelistic – attracting people and explaining what Christians think about specific issues; discipleship-oriented – showing young Christians how to live out their faith in practice; and society-transforming – speaking into felt issues with conviction and offering practical in-country sources for further assistance. Your support of this project will make it possible for us to minister to Muslims in word and deed.

In 2008, AWM Media, in partnership with our PALM discipleship and theological education ministry, is launching an online discipleship program for young believers. This interactive mentoring and discipleship program is based on the well-tested and well-used PALM discipleship materials. Fifty short videos will be produced to introduce and give a concise overview of each lesson. These short training videos will also be used at training events in the Arab world and for satellite television broadcast.Please help us make this project possible, especially for those who live in countries with no access to Bible training.

As part of the Maarifa New Media Ministry, AWM Media will also launch a 24/7 radio and television station with both pre-recorded and live programming. New programs will be produced, especially designed for the Internet medium. The first Internet television series, Shabiba Xpress, will be a series of 78 five-minute programs on the Ten Commandments. By coming alongside this project, you will make this creative form of outreach possible throughout the Arab world.
